Export CIS .dbc file in binary format?

I am trying to import our CIS library into Altium. Their import wizard requires the .dbc file to be in binary format. Ours is XML.

How do I export a .DBC file in binary format? There's no option when using the Save As feature through Capture.

Using OrCAD hotfix 062 and CIS v17.2.9.8

MS SQL Management Studio can export the tables, or you can get the server name, login and password, connect MS Excel to the SQL server, import your table then export to other formats supported by Excel.

There isn't any practical reason to do this from Capture CIS.

Honestly, I am dying to know why anyone would switch to Altium.

Just the sheer number of user-hostile design elements and obtuse workflows inherent to OrCAD Slight smile

I think most people have been using the software so long that they don't notice them anymore.

After pressing both Altium and EMA-EDA support for answers, it turns out that CIS has not used a .dbc config file in binary format since version 10 or so. I'm going to have to try something else.

I think one canned PLM system with a two-digit pricetag used Visual FoxPro DBC files back around 2000.  DBC is the file extension for the config file used by CIS to connect to the data source and I jumped to conclusions.  Thank god for OpenBom.

We had to open the DBC file up with MS Access and clear the jam each time two people tried to add new parts at the same time.

Excel can write all sorts of data formats.

We have Altium to support those customers (can't sell them chips until everything is done), I don't see giving up Allegro for their layout tool.
