172. 062 hotfix - using wildcard in library search not working

While in footprint edit mode, I cannot search for footprints using wildcards such as cap*.dra, *0402*.dra, etc.

It does not work in edit board mode either.

I'm running Windows 10 pro.

Wildcards still work in Allegro version 16.6.

I have no clue what is going on. Looking for suggestions to fix.

go to user settings and select ui/browse/new_filedialog_disable

I've also had to use this variable to stop some dialogue boxes (File>Open) from opening so wide that they go off of the screen. Question is .. when should we expect to remove this variable so that we get the 'new file dialog' ?
