Capture 17.4 Does not open read-only schematics

Hello All,

Just tried to open a schematic marked read-only in our file system. Capture instantly closes the file without a message of any kind in the session log.

As far as I can tell, this is new behavior from 17.2. Is there anything I can check for additional information, or to force Capture to open the file? Marking the file as read-write is not an option.

Thanks!

-Pete

This should not be the case. I can open a read only .DSN in capture 17.4. Can you please check if this is design specific or generic? Also if .DSN file does not have associated project, capture would try to create one and it would need write access to folder where dsn is present.

I definitely misspoke. The whole directory (and every subfile) is readonly.  In the RO directory, there is an associated project file (which is also RO).

I've tried to figure out if my design is specific or generic. I don't know how. Would you give me a pointer on how to figure that out?

    Solving my own issue:

Capture was out of date despite the welcome screen indicating an up-to-date installation. Updating to the latest hotfix resolved the behavior.
