Customizing the Columns in Properties Editor

Hello, I am using Orcad Capture CIS 17.2

I have been trying to make a custom Filter in Properties Editor->Parts tab.

I am able to Hide the columns I don't need, and Add Filter for columns I do need.

What I am unable to do, is rearrange the columns to make is simpler for me to see all the information I want . For instance I want the Part Reference column to be second in the Properties window.

I can highlight the whole column, hover the mouse until the small gray rect appears, then hold LMB and drag across the other column headers. A red line appears between each column as I move . When the red line is in the position I wish to move the selected column, I release LMB and I see a flash of the column contents move, but the column just remains where it started. It doesn't matter what direction I am rearranging, or the type of column (Orcad built in or a custom New Filter column).

It almost acts like when the Windows desktop is locked so you cannot rearrange Icons.

Is there a setting or entry in an environment file that would be causing this?

So., after working with an EMA-EDA trainer over this issue, there appears to be a problem with the creation of the files located in the $HOME\cdssetup\OrCAD_Capture\17.2.0 directory.

The location of the $HOME path can be found by typing set into the command line of the PCB Editor application. In my case $HOME is C:\Users\<myusername>

If I renamed the directory 17.2.0 to 17.2.0_bak, then restarted Capture, after the restart all the problems went away and I am able to move columns in the properties window.

However, after a few minutes of Addinga new Filter, hiding unwanted properties and creating new properties, the problem returned.

I went and renamed the 17.2.0 folder again, restarted and experimented.

Problem resolved and I began again.

It appears that hiding a certain number of [properties using RMB->Filters->Hide causes the issue.  .

Then the trainer from EDA-EMA suggested that is use the Remove Current Filter .

When I did that, the problem resolved, without requiring me to rename the $HOME\cdssetup\OrCAD_Capture\17.2.0 directory.

So I think the process is to  create the new filter. Add the properties you want, arrange the columns and then start hiding the one you don't need to see.
