Hi,

I am current looking a software that uploads files and BOM into Agile. We use OrCADs for schematic capture.

We are having a hard time to find the software that would do that. We have perception EDAConnector right now and they have discontinued technical support it since last year.

    This is DEFINITELY THE WRONG forum to post, but then again you're not the 1st puib to do it, so I'll give a quick answer. Your CM person in charge of Agile can easily create a script to read in the Orcad BOM. If you don't have one, or he/she is incapable... too bad. It was easy at my last company.

    Which forum would you suggest this user post a Capture question to?  This would be helpful for me and others.

    I'm not sure there is a "Cadence forum" for an Agile program issue, and this is certainly an Agile issue. (Not yelling - emphasizing...) And as I mentioned before, the Agile CM can set this up. From what I remember, it's not a hard task for them and didn't present a problem in capture creating what Agile needs. But it's an Agile process to import the capture BOM. Good day.

    Typically PLM / CM tools import BOMs in .csv or .xls format. You'll need to check with your Agile folks to determine which data fields are required by that system to determine correct data mapping. Design files, drawings, etc. are normally imported individually and attached to an Item Master record in your PLM / CM system. For this you will need to determine what the standard data / drawing format your PLM / CM system requires (eg. PDF, ZIP, DWG) before generating files from your design tool for import.
