Change Layer Order

archive
archive over 20 years ago

Hi! I have a ruted 12 Layers PCB with Layout and I want to do a Specctra Quest Test, but when I export the design from Layout to Allegro (with TOALLEGRO software) I obtain the design with the order of layers not like I want, there is any posibility to change the order or layer in Allegro, Layout, Specctra or anything else...

Thanks a lot

    Toghara,
Not as easily as you'd probably like, but you can clip out all the etch on each layer, save them to clip files (be sure to use a common origin for all clips). Now you can go in and seletes all the etch on the layers you want to move, rename the layer names, and clip the etch items back in. If all the vias are through vias, then basically all you need to clip out are the actual traces, and can leave the vias behind. When you clip the files back in, then they will reconnect to the vias to make the connection. I seem to remember a skill program that was posted on the web to aid in doing this. I can't seem to locate it now.
