Adding custom pads/holes to the schematic

Belvy
Belvy over 5 years ago

using 17.2...

I make a pad on the padstack editor, then I want this pad on my schematic, so I can connect it to my circuits before moving to the pcb editor.

My colleague and I have found a way to add the pads on the pcb editor, but it would be good to have the rats nest show where they should be connected.

Probably a stupid question but we just cant seem to find any libraries with pads or holes or anything you could then add your own pads to or replace with your own pads in the PCB editor?

Thanks in advance!

    Create a schematic library with a pin or use test point from default library and connect to component then provide the user-defined footprint name to a symbol and netlist design. This ensures in PCB editor you get a pad with ratsnet.
