Move vertex issue

I can't get "move vertex" to work. I can delete and add vertex but not move. I use this mostly in editing lines but etch or lines won't work. I tried this in both etch mode and general mode.

Any suggestions?

    Hi, give this a try.

In your find filter enable only "Cline Segments"

Hover over a cline segment & it will highlight. Where the vertex of the cline exists "End of the Segment" Right click and choose move vertex. Move vertex only shows up as right click option when you are close to the end of a line or segment.

I checked this on 16.6 and it works as intended.

    All the best.

When I do that I can select the vertex but it moves the same way as selecting the vertex in slide mode.

Hi mike you are right but you will notice you should be able to move the vertex around the screen as in up/down - Left right etc. Slide wont do that.

Is it working for you ?

Here is a picture of move vertex in action. BTW What version of allegro are you using ?

No! This is what I am trying to. it acts more like "slide etch" when you move a part and not "stretch etch". What you are showing is the "stretch etch" which is what I want. Thanks!

    I'm on 17.2 S055

More than likely the version you are using has a bug. If possible try update to the latest.

I use the "DOWN Arrow Key" on my keyboard:

    ENV file:

alias Down Vertex Next      #Move Vertex using the Down arrow key

Thanks for your response. The issue is Allegro will not go into the "move vertex" mode. For some reason I found the issue was caused by something in my env file. All I had changed in it was adding a few aliases and funckeys. I #'d out the aliases and now it is working. Maybe, in my spare time, I'll try to narrow down which alias caused to issue. Thanks again!
