island question

hello

is there a way to activate "automatically delete isolated shapes" on the dynamic shape "instance" parameters?

as you can see below, it is deactivated as a default  for some reason on the dynamic shape "instance" parameters.

i am aware of the isolated shape setup on the "global" dynamic shape parameters where you can delete all islands.

but in some cases i would prefer not to delete all islands but keep some of them by setting the parameters of some shapes individually.

i feel like i am stranded on islands...

By default, the option is enabled in all PCB tiers and 17.2, 17.4 version and if selected the feature activates. In your case, notice it is showing VSS and boundaryF13. Might be some  net or shape is selected. Verify once.

Application  mode- general edit and now check if the option is enabled. At the worst case rename pcbenv

    thank you for your reply.

whenever i open the dynamic shape "instance" parameters window, i use a command, "shape select."

so yes, a shape is selected with VSS net on FL3 layer.

is there any other way to display the dynamic shape "instance" parameters without selecting a shape?

and i am in the general edit mode.

how do you set up an individual shape in which all the isolated shapes within the shape are to be deleted?

For individual shape, you may have to go manually and delete them. Setup - design parameter - Global dynamic parameter deletes all islands which you are already aware of.

    thank you for your reply.

i do not use the global dynamic shape parameters as i have two or more substrate designs in one file with completely different design rules.

if i use the global parameters, everything would get screwed up.

i guess i am stranded on an island...

Tip: i NEVER do that; any more since years. Just move slightly some cline or add vias to connect.generaly not a big work and result in better.. result

Deleting island brings void at island location; further revision a board will keet theses void, even if not more required: to be deleted manually.

Furthermore, i already corrupte shapes due to theses void: (ok, in old allegro version (15.x, no recent ones): editing shape boundary without knowing about these void and the voids were after this OUTSIDE of shape: even dbdoctor can not correct it (database corrupted) and have to find and correct manually what's going on.
