Via on Pad Designs- Edge of Via to Edge of Pad Spacing

Anyone have a good work around for checking edge of via to edge of pin spacing for via-on-pad designs? (I need to make sure the via lands within the pin and that it falls within the pad by a specified distance.)

I cannot think of a way on top of my head, but if you are familiar with Allegro Skill then you should be able to write a function that reports/checks exactly what you are looking for.

Not sure if you could do it in skill but you could make a export to a dxf file and bring it into a cad package such as autocad and measure from quad of via to the edge of the pad. Its a little bit of work but should give you the answer.

Draw a via keepout on the perimeter of the pads in the symbol drawing, create new symbol, and update the design with the new symbol. This will give you a visible DRC if the via pad is inside the narrow via k/o drawn around the pad perimeter.
