grid.exe?

We use a UNIX binary created in 1992 by Scott Baker which will redefined the refdes on a board by row and column such that parts are easy to find on the board. We are now migrating to the PC and are looking for a PC version of the program. Has anyone written a program that will define the refdes properties by location?

1992... that was a few years ago... :)

There is a SourceLink solution that explains how to do this.

    Solution # 11111948
Title: Method and example for using Grid Based reference designator auto-renaming

Let us know how this works out. Thanks!

Well, it doesn't give the engineers EXACTLY what they're used to (and change is difficult to persuade). I'll try to bend some arms, though.
