allegro 17.2 temporarily highlight all nets connected

Hello,

While I am routing, Is there an efficient way to temporarily highlight all members of a net and stop it when I am done? So far, I just press the paintbrush icon (assign color) and hover. The thing is, when I continue routing, I am no longer hovering so the highlighting goes away.

Allegro/Orcad selects objects in a hierarchy.  If your Find/Select filter only has Nets or Clines active, hovering over them will cause the matching object to flash.

If you have the Find filter set with all options on for EtchEdit or PlacementEdit modes, then you will be selecting individual vias or individual Cline segments first.  But you can menu-mouse click and override that hierarchy to act on the full Cline or the Net.

The SuperFilter menu might help.  Overriding the Find filter can be faster than changing individual options all the time.  You just have to remember to turn it off…

For some strange reason, I can't add my picture to this Wiki.  Oh, I have to be logged in first.

If your Find filter allows it, you can menu-button click Net> Highlight>  But, not a CLine.

Frank, check that your "Temporary Highlight" color is set to something other than the color you use for pins and traces. Under display settings change the temporary highlight color to something like white.
When you route in traces on a layer, you should see the pins associated with the net light up in white as you route.

There is also a mode called shadow mode "Under Display settings" that can be used to dim the active layer while routing. With shadow mode enabled you can make the highlighting of pins look more pronounced as you route on an active layer.

    All the best.
