What the heck happened to ratsnest during move?

I noticed a few releases ago in 17.2.xx that rats stopped showing during move even tho ripup was selected.  Then in 17.4 same thing.

Did a setting change or did some beginner at Cadence decide this was a useless function?

Red in 17.2 SO70 IF i do a component move with rats off and ripup selected the rats show and the etch is ripped up if there was etch on the component. This looks ok here

Doing a move on a component with 2 pins one has etch, ALL Rats Off,  "Slide Etch" enabled the rats from the other pin do not show when I move the component, the etch does slide.

So this particular one is not right. The rats should show if slide etch is enabled and one pin has a net but that pin is not routed. It has been that way in 17.2 for along time. In 16.6 the rats show in this mode as far as I can recall but will confirm.

Was slide etch checked when you were doing that component move ?, also what ver you running on 17.2 ?. I gave up on 17.4 Slight smile

    All the best.

What I am seeing is that *some* components will rat if ripup is on but others won't.  This behavior is recent as of x.50 something update.  16.6 moves/rips/rats fine on the same design for the same components.

17.4 is practically useless.  We can't get anything done it.  Of course half the time I am struggling to figure out which icon means what...ugh.  That's another thread.

Ok, I found the answer on the support site.  Yes, in fact Cadence did slip this change in.  Why???

Here is the fix from Cadence:  Click on to restore 16.6 and prior behavior.  Yes, ripup must be on, slide off, etc... but this is the real issue.
