Assembly drawing PCB callout question

My documentation department has been asking me to add a callout pointing to the PCB that matches the find number on the parts list. Does anyone have any idea where this originated? It doesn't seem to provide any value to the documentation package.

That's actually pretty common. Doc standards across companies vary so greatly tho. Some want this. Some don't. Just add the balloon callout with arrow using the manufacturing->dimension->Balloon leader
