Reduce STEP File Size

I'm exporting step file for a daughter card and the output file size is huge. I use File Export Step. 

If I open in Soliudworks , the size again get increased by 3 times!!

Is there any way to reduce the file size of the STEP model of the board file?

  • Not really with STEP.  In fact if you use the 3D viewer STEP export the file sizes can easily each several hundred megabytes!

    If you want a small file, try exporting the BDF,LDF file instead and import using Solidworks Circuitworks instead.
