Diffent component group accros different schematic

Hi all,

I'm currently managing the organization of the new drawing in my company; the legacy way consisted of keeping in one DSN file all the schematic of a particular device even if they belonged to different boards. The problem arises whith the newer version due to the fact that the program now manages BOM variants, and when switching the root of the drawing I encounter two different problem that is one consequence of the other:

1) the created groups are kept for different schematic;

2) the BOM variant, if the switch has been made between a very big schematic and a smaller one, and back the group will lack parts.

Which is the best way to keep all the drawings related to a particular device all grouped together using the program instead of splitting the project across multiple files?

Thank you, Davide
