Capture - Refdes controlled annotation not working when one or more manually assigned Refdes

I'm adding a number of components to an existing design where the "Refdes control required" is ticked in the annotation dialog. The new components are added on the FPGA page and I want them to fall in the 200 range as set in the dialog.

However, there are one or more manually assigned Refdes in the design that don't fall into the set range. As an example, I have a power connector with Refdes J1 on the Power page. This makes the annotation fail:

ERROR(ORCAP-1407): Part reference J1 is out of range (350 to 399)

Can I suppress this error somehow since it's really not an error?

Also, I'm curious to know why Capture prefers "Update Instances" as the annotation mode. That doesn't work since the design is hierarchal.

If you are using the 17.2 and above version then, try with advanced annotation where you can control the page-wise and component-wise annotation so that you can retain connector refdes and annotate rest.
