PCB Editor- 3D View of Component

So when placing my components, I mirrored the component I needed to be on the bottom layer. I am designing a 2 layer board btw...but now that I am looking at the 3D view the component appears to still be on the top layer. Is this normal? I know looking at the visibility view for the top and bottom, I can see the components at the bottom is connected to ground as I want it. Is this a good way to verify my component is indeed in the bottom layer?

Goto display - element/ check - element and select the component. A new pop-up window opens where if it is mentioned mirrored then it is in the bottom layer, not mirrored means it is in top layer.

You can generate the placement report to verify the placement. SYM_MIRROR - No means top layer, Yes - bottom layer.
