Invoking Multiple Allegro on computer

archive
archive over 19 years ago

Hi all

i think i saw some where that there is a possibility to open few Allegro instances in one computer and consuming only one licence.
may be i am wrong  but i have this possibility in Expedition and P-cad.

it is very usefull when looking  at a reference design while working in other design.
or working on two design that should be connected via a connector or cable.
or two boards that are stacked one on the other and you want to inspect mating problems.

doe's any one know any thing about this issue ?

Thank's
roby

Not possible unless you open multiple instances of the Free Viewer.. which can be done by browsing to :
    %cdsroot%\tools\pcb\bin
    and executing "allegro_free_viewer.exe"

or put this on your desktop, it doesn't need a license so you can open as many copies as needed to view the design while working on your licensed copy of Allegro.

Hi , thanks for the info ...

What about Constraint manager info or other parameter avaliable only to Preformance Option ? (the constraint manager is visible in the viewer can i copy and paste ?)
i am new to allegro so maybe what i ask is not possible :-( - is it possible to copy and paste from the viewer to the Allegro or only from to instaces of allegro or it is not possible at all ?
(i am used to those things from P-cad).

    thanks
