Using antipads with DRC on planes

My company uses static shape positive planes in our designs and we use DRC for the clearance.  We have a part that requires a different shape for the plane clearance than what is created by the DRC.  The pad is .036 round and the clearance on the plane needs to be .060 square (this is per the manufacturers datasheet).  I have defined the padstack for this footprint and setting the Shape Parameters to Thermal/anti for Thru pins works.  However, the other thru pins are not cleared from the plane.  Since we use the DRC for clearance we do not have antipads defined for the other Thru pins.  The help file says that if the Antipad is smaller than the DRC the DRC will be used.  This sounded like if no Antipad is defined it would use the DRC.  This was not the case.  I had to define an Antipad for there to be any clearance on these pins.

Here is my question.  Is there a way to have Allegro use an Antipad if present and if not use the DRC?  We do not want to have to change our thru holes and start defining Antipads.

Thanks!

Mike

Well its been a whiile since I have used static planes but I do seem to remember if you used the antiipads for pin and vias that you needed to have the antipads defined.
