If you are stuck on a topic and you get no response from the forum then use your local Cadence support center - they will be able to help you through all the help you need.

Have you looked through the online help on Design Partitions? Basically the first thing you need for Design Partion will be a license file that enables it.

The basic principle for Design Partition is to have a Master designer who partitions the brd, the master then can choose to add guideports to the partitions which are used to guide routing in and out of the partition. Once this is done the partitions can be exported to the partition designer - this can be linked into the email system so that notifications are sent out when a partition is exported or imported. The partitions designers get a dpf file which is basically a brd file that has only their partition enabled (everything else is in shadow mode), which they then layout - routing and moving objects is only allowed in their partition. Once the partition is complete is us passed back over to the Master to check-in to the master design.
