Post Processing - Gerber Links to Layers Spreadsheet

archive
archive over 18 years ago

I am having difficulty discovering the link between rows in the Post Process Spreadsheet and layers in my Layout Plus design.  I have an 8-layer design that I had to which I had to add 2 additional layers.  The new layers do not appear in the post process spreadsheet.  I have tried adding rows to the spreadsheet which worked just fine.  However, the gerber data produced is not linked to the new layers nor can I find where I can make this linkage.

    Steve,

After you add a layer to the post process spreadsheet you have to set up the colors for that layer. In the post process spreadsheet click on your new layer and then right click and pick "Preview." This will show you what the post processor is going to output for that layer. Open your colors spreadsheet and set up the colors the way you want them for that layer output. Once it looks right to you right click on the layer in the Post Process spreadsheet again and click "Save Colors."

It may help to resize your windows so you can see the design window, colors spreadsheet, and post process spreadsheet at the same time. This is how I do it any time I need to add new layers to my output. I also go through the post process spreadsheet when I'm done with a design, before a output the gerbers, and preview every layer just to be sure everything is set up right.
