Regarding Gloss operation

Hi,

Can anyone explain me what is Gloss operation,how can it be useful in allegro?

    It performs following actions:
    1. Clean up lines and vias
    2. Eliminate vias
    3. Smooth lines
    4. Center lines between pads
    5. Improve line entry into pads
    6. Widen connect lines
    7. Convert corners to arcs
    8. Generate dielectric patches
    9. Fillet pad and T connection

    You can attach either the NO_GLOSS property or the FIXED property to the nets so that gloss does not modify the routing of these nets.
