Convert brd file from 16.x to 15.x version.

Is there any skill file\procedure to convert an allegro board file from 16.x to 15.x version.

  • My understanding from the 16.0 training is "there's no way back". So unless there's a 3rd party method Cadence doesn't have a solution.

  • Try to :

    In Allegro 16 ;
    Create artworks of all thinkable layers or DXF. End up with exporting a IDF file or export a placement file.

    In Allegro 15 ;
    Import the Artwork files or dxf files, and read in the placement file from above.

    Unless they did a huge bugbug, this should be working.
