    Hello Kingshar,

This will be helpful for placement of components in a group For example: power components in a group etc.,
STEPS TO BE TAKEN IN ORCAD :
Select the group of components to be grouped and go to edit properties u will find there a column room
Specify the name you want like 'pwr' for power group and generate the netlist in conventional method
STEPS TO BE DONE IN ALLEGRO :
    Import the netlist
Add rectangle in the board geometry-top room and add text to it naming the group 'pwr' after clicking on the group shape
Edit properties of the shape and there will be a property room type where HARD has to be typed
Then go to PLACE----AUTO PLACE---TOP GRIDS (specify the grids eg:50) followed by clicking on the group shape
Followed by PLACE ---AUTO PLACE ---ROOM and specify the room name
    Check for further drc's .

    Regards,
    Satya
