Allegro newbie

archive over 17 years ago

Hi Folks,

Iam new to this forum and newbie to allegro,we just bought allegro ver 16 couple of days ago.

I have 10 + years of experience,last 3 years i was working on Pads Layout 2005 spac2,earlier
to that in Cadstar.

I would like know is there any tutorials for the complete process from schematic capturing(Orcad Cis) to the gerber generation for Allegro ver 16?

There were lots of articles(step by step process) written in pdf format in pcblibraries.com for Pads layout, likewise is there any articles written for allegro ver 16?

What would be the best way for people like me who had migrated from Pads Layout to Allegro
to strat with...

Do appreciate for the suggestions on above subject.

Regards,

Ramesh

Your best bet is to use all the tutorials that come installed within Allegro for your service. There really isn't a Step-X-Step process written for Allegro that I've seen, but there are a number of sites that you can take advantage of. (There isn't one place where you'll learn it all.

    You found cdnusers.org
sourcelink.cadence.com (has gobbs of information available)
    padmasters.com
    pcbstandards.com

And, for the final frontier, ask your Cadence/EMA rep (who sold you the tools) if they can get you the Cadence User's Conference proceedings for this last conference, and a couple others. Those have very good additional points.

The last step, look at Vincent DeLilo's (I'm sure I've spell that wrong) presentation on this site. He give you a VERY GOOD tutorial on what newbies will encounter.

    Good day.
    Mitch
