circuitcam script failure

archive
archive over 17 years ago

Newbie on this forum.  My apologies in advance for protocall errors.

I used to run the allegro circuitcam script for one of my customers without problems, but now it crashes during the sort process.  It does all the extract reads and writes, creates the empty .cad file, but crashes with the message:

"sort: /tmpbignumber: No such file or directory"

For some reason it is putting the sort data someplace where the script can't find it to write to the ccam.cad file.  I would appreciate any help from someone who uses this script.

Perhaps I should have given more information.  I could really use some help.  Attached is the script.  Also, I am running v15.2 for most of my jobs including this one.  Using PCB Design Studio on this one, although I also have a Performance option license.

    Hi Pat,

Here's what I do, and I'm still using CircuitCAM on v15.7:

    1) place a .brd file in the folder that the executable is (xtrct.cmd) at.
    2) open a DOS window
    3) go to that folder
    4) run the executable.

    It still works for me.

If you want to send me a file to try, I can. email me at: cadpro2k_at_yahoo_dot_com

    Good day.
    Mitch

    Maybe not the problem, but:

Never user space in folders name. How many users says program do not work and have but it in a path containing a space...

Hi. I´ve created this skill file which actually does the same as the original tool, but as *.il file. Maybe this can help :-). Sincerely Klavs Rommedahl

Thank you for the skill file for the CircuitCAM output. I have tested this skill routine out on Allegro version 16.01 with the latest hotfix (Hotfix_SPB16.01.004_wint_1of1) and then compared the output against the CircuitCAM extract files that I have used in the past in the DOS window.

It does provide the same information as the CircuitCAM xtrct.cmd executable. Klavs, do you by any chance have a skill file equivalent for the CircuitCAM xtrctnet.cmd command file that also includes the net information?
