Display problems with 16.01

Hi there, I'm just starting to use Allegro again after 6 or 7 years. I've just upgraded to 16.01. I'm using a dual monitor set up. One of my monitors is a Dell flat screen. Since upgrading to 16.01, the display is very slow on the flat screen, the tips/highlight feature doesn't work and the infinite cross hair does not show up at all. Everything works fine on the regular monitor. And everything worked fine on the flat screen with 15.5.1. We've tried upgrading the driver and it hasn't helped at all. Has anyone else come across this problem? Any solutions? Any ideas? Thanks in advance, Jackie

    Hi Jackie,

Your Graphics card may not be upto spec in order to use the advanced OpenGL features within Allegro, try turning it off to see if it improves things for you:

    In Allegro - User Preferences
    Category : OpenGL > disable_opengl

I don't seem to have a category called OpenGL.

    In Allegro "SPB16.x" goto:
    1, Setup > User Preferences
2, On the Left hand side are the "categories" scroll down until you see the Opengl folder next to Misc
3, Click on this Category and on the Right hand side check the disable_opengl option.

I'm not sure why you do not see this option if you are using Allegro PCB 16.0/16.01...

you can set it in your "ENV" file in you pcbenv directory by typing:
    set disable_opengl

Note you will need to restart Allegro PCB in order for this variable to take effect.

I don't know why I don't have it either. My category list goes from Misc to Plot.

I tried changing the env file, but nothing seems to have changed. I'm not sure what that is supposed to do, so not sure what to look for.
