Auto-routing

Hi,

I want to do bus routing in route editor.
I've created buses in EC in pcb editor but again do i need to define the wires in a bus as a "net bundle" here
inorder to get the wires of a bus to run closer to each other?
Once if we define every constraints in Allegro pcb editor, do we need to define any other rules/constraints in
route editor, incase if we come to router for auto-routing?

thanks,

You will not need to define rules in both Allegro PCB Editor and Allegro Router because the design rules from Allegro PCB Editor will pass to the Router for manual and automatic routing.

If you are using Allegro 15.x, you should see the following warning when going into the Route Editor:
    <>
Design Rules: No rules found in design file.
    Please read rules from dofile.

What this means is you have to load the rules do file which has been generated with the same name as you Allegro database but with a "_rules.do" extension. (_rules.do). Using File > Execute Do File.. from inside of the Allegro Router Editor to load this do file before you begin any routing.

If you are using Allegro 16.x, the above _rules.do will be automatically read after opening the Allegro Router so you will not need to execute the rules DO file manually anymore.

    Hope this helps,
