Text in etch layers not appearing in artwork

archive
archive over 17 years ago

Hi,

I'm trying to have text included in an etch layer for annotating a board (no silk screen layer). I've tried adding text to an etch layer using the 'Add Text' command. The text appears in a hollow box within allegro. However, when I generate artwork for the layer and review the artwork, the box around the text appears, but there is no text. Am I doing something wrong or not setting a property of some sort?

Thanks,
Will Bertsche

Check the text block that the text is set to - could be that this less than the min aperture width set in the artwork so is being suppressed. Also review the artwork.log file to verify this

Thanks for the quick answer - that was precisely the problem
