Pin not numeric error

archive
archive over 17 years ago

Good Morning,
I've created a BGA part and labeled the pins numbers A1, A2 A3 etc.  Now I get a DRC error that the pins are not numeric.  If I changed these pins to 1A, 2A, 3A etc.  will this remove my error?  Or can you not have any letters in a pin number.  I assume I'll have to change the footprint as well to match the change.
Thanks

Your BGA device should have the pins labelled A1, A2, A3, etc. This is alpha-numeric pin numbering and is absolutely available with Allegro. What you need to check is the schematic. I'm guessing someone built the BGA symbol wrong, OR they didn't cross reference their numeric pins to the correct Alpha-numeric pins. I know PADS does this type of mapping, and sometimes find the logic didn't utilize the alpha-numeric.

    Good luck.
