PSpice Student Version?

markmick02
markmick02 over 16 years ago

I'm a student and find that PSpice 9.2 does not run well on XP/Server2003/Vista.  Simulations do not keep their settings between runs, due to a "MarkerServer" error.  I realize that PSpice 9.2 is no longer supported, but product is nearly useless on current OS's.

The Demo version works on XP/Vista, but is limited and will run few of my previous 9.2 schematics.  I believe some of the IC models exceed the Demo limitations.

PSpice is a critical application for students.  The real Cadence 16.2 is way too expensive for a student & the Demo version is too crippled.  There's always NI's MultiSim, but my university uses PSpice.  What is the solution to this dilemma?  Install Win98 on some old PC?

Thanks...Mark

As far as I am aware the 64-node limit has always applied to all "free", Demo or Student, versions of the PSpice simulator. Obviously, thye full version has no such limits. Cadence provides tools to Educational establishments specifically to support courses that use PSpice in their material.

    Hello,

I need help with the Pspice 9.1 installation guide for Windows 10 - where can I download it? I've got only 2 pdf tutorials which I downloaed from All About Circuits forum. Is there a version for academic use? For teachers/professors perhaps? I'm planning my next course for the SmartLab classroom of Lucerne Valley Elementary School. My email: adrian (dot) altenburger (at) lucernevalleyusd (dot) org

Shared materials about simulation on Mathcad and PSpice in graduate courses for electrical engineering research paper proposal

If you are interested in OrCAD products, you need to contact the Cadence Channel Partner for the USA (EMA Design Automation www.ema-eda.com) and ask about the academic support programs. There are a variety of options to support tutors and students with up to date, and supported, products. (OrCAD 9.1 was around from September 1999 to September 2000 so I doubt that Windows 10 would be a suitable environment and, obviously, no longer supported) Since it's Thanksgiving this weekend, you may not get a response / be able to contact them before next week.
