I want to bring up my simulation, but this error pops up.

I press ok right after and the whole thing just closes itself out...

There cold be a number of reasons but if it happening only for one project then it is likely that OrCAD project got messed up. For example - you may have deleted some files manually from the disk that are still being looked for by software

Make sure you have the latest 16.6 ISR software.

Make sure that issue is only for specific project. If yes - create a new project and copy over the schematics to it.

If you are unable to resolve it after copy - I would recommend calling in at Cadence technical support.

I'm getting the same error every time I try to create a new project in the trial version of Capture CIS 17.4. Anyone know why?

    Try registering the plugins:

Close any Capture and PSpice Windows
    Start Windows Task Manager
In Task Manager select Processes tab, left-click More Details if only a small number of processes are listed.
Left-click the Name column to sort the processes alphabetically.
Look for any of the following processes listed in Task Manager (only some of them may be listed):

    capture.exe
    cdsMsgServer.exe
    cdsNameServer.exe
    MrkSrvr.exe
    pspice.exe
    pspiceexplorersrvr.exe
    simmgr.exe
    simsrvr.exe

Select an entry for the "exe" name and then left-click the End Task button.
Once none of the processes in the list are listed, close Windows Task Manager

Start OrCAD Capture (CIS) then View>Command Window.
Copy the following, case sensitive, command:

    DboTclHelper_ReRegisterOrCADPlugins

Paste the copied command text into the Capture Command Window and press the Enter key to run the command.
    Restart Capture (CIS)
