Using S-parameter within Allegro CIS?

Hi,

I am trying to create a symbol that references an S-parameter file for a simulation. Is it possible to use Allegro CIS and PSPICE AD to run a simulation that requires s-parameters?

Thanks!

Hi, have a look at the following app note

    https://www.pspice.com/sites/default/files/PSpice%20App%20Note_Obtain%20S-Parameter%20Data%20from%20the%20Probe%20Window.pdf

    This may be of help.

Hi, thanks for the app note.

To be clear, I am not trying to create / define S-parameters of a model. I have an existing S-parameter model that is defined and would like to run a simulation in PSPICE AD. Is there any way to simulate this?

    Thanks!

    Hi,

The S-Parameter data you have is just the result of a simulation of reflection measurements for a device. For passive devices this would be impedance data vs frequency, Mag Phase etc. For active devices such as a transistor etc this would be the measured impedance data at a fixed bias point.

It would be possible to do what you are after to some degree but in p-spice you would need to create a sub-circuit for analysis and pull the manufacturers SP2 data into that. "Not easy to do"

Here is an older app note that goes into that.

A far better way do analysis on SP2 data you would be to use a dedicated RF simulator such as ADS or AWR.
