Gauge and absolute pressure as base value

Smit Lakdawala
Smit Lakdawala 7 months ago

If the base gauge pressure is set to 101325 Pa, and the outlet boundary condition is defined as static pressure (outflow) with a value of 0 Pa, does this imply that the absolute pressure at the outlet is 101325 Pa? In other words, is the outlet absolute pressure calculated as the base gauge pressure (101325 Pa) plus the specified outlet pressure (0 Pa)?

    Hi Smit,

Thank you for posting your question.  Yes, in the scenario you describe, the absolute pressure at the outlet would be the base pressure of 101,325 [Pa].

But please note that all pressures displayed in the postprocessor will be relative pressures (relative to the base pressure).

I hope this answers your question.
