Using Solar Radiation in Celsius Thermal Solver

Solar radiation plays an important role in the design of electronics. It also impacts the thermal performance and lifetime of electronics. In Celsius, you can use solar radiations.

To use solar radiations in your thermal simulations, do the following:

  1. Choose Simulation > Options. The Options window displays.
  2. Click Solver Options to display the solver options in the right pane.

       3. In the Solar Radiation area, click On to calculate the impact of solar radiation on your

geometry. This option is set to Off by default.

For more information, refer to the Setting Simulation Analysis Options section of Celsius Thermal Solver User Guide.

You can specify the intensity of the solar radiation in the Intensity (W/m^2) field. To calculate the radiation intensity you can use the Solar Intensity Calculator available in Celsius Thermal Solver. More details on this is available in link
