Clarity 3D Layout and Clarity 3D Workbench are the latest toolsets offered by Cadence that utilize the Clarity 3D Solver technology.

Cadence® ClarityTm 3D Solver is a 3D electromagnetic (EM) simulation software tool used to analyze critical interconnects for PCBs, IC packages, and System on IC (SoIC) designs. It enables you to handle the most complex electromagnetic challenges when designing systems for 5G, automotive, high-performance computing (HPC), and machine learning applications with gold-standard accuracy.

Clarity 3D Solver uses industry-leading distributed multiprocessing technology from Cadence to deliver virtually unlimited capacity and 10X speed to efficiently and effectively address large and complex structures. It generates highly accurate S-parameter models for use in signal integrity (SI), power integrity (PI), and electromagnetic compliance (EMC) analysis, generating simulation results that match lab measurements, even at 112Gbps+ data transfer speeds. Clarity 3D Solver solves true 3D structures by efficiently matching the available computing resources to the size of the design.

Based on the type of interconnect structures, applications, and the format of the expected result, Clarity 3D Solver is offered in two flavors:

  1. Clarity 3D Layout
  2. Clarity 3D Workbench

Here are the tabulated differences between the Clarity 3D Layout and Clarity 3D Workbench:
