Crash Reporting in Clarity

We often see the issues of tool crashing because of various environment settings and the tool compatibility issue when working at the system-level design.

Here is the quick way to report the crash to Cadence R&D directly.

When a crash occurs, two dialog boxes are presented to the user. First, the following to prepare them:

When the first dialog box is dismissed, the following dialog box appears:

The user can enter their email and a description for the steps leading up to the crash.

A privacy policy is included to describe what goes into a report. The user may view exactly what goes into their report by clicking the “What does this report contain?” link.

When the user clicks Send report, the report is sent to a cloud server and after a short interval, copied local to Cadence and processed automatically.

Overall, this level of crash reporting helps track crashes better and gets them fixed quicker than before.
