Clarity – Tip of the week: Setting Up Circuit Ports in Clarity 3D Layout

Circuit ports are like lumped ports and can be used when lumped ports and coaxial ports are obstructed by metal or other nets. Unlike lumped ports, circuit ports can be horizontal, vertical, or at any angle. You can use circuit ports to connect the nodes in the same layer or in different layers.

It is recommended that you use circuit ports only when it is not feasible to use lumped or coaxial ports, for example, when there are metals obstructing the port surface between its positive and negative nodes.

To create circuit port, go to Setup > Port and select New from the context menu

Then Hook Positives and Hook Negatives nodes

The circuit port will be added in the Port dialog box, as shown below.

Have you used circuit port in your extractions? Let us know your experience.
