If you are looking for specific recommendation on the best PowerDC setting to use for the most accurate result, then this tip is for you. You can check Enable Accuracy Mode option which helps you to achieve simulation accuracy for jobs where the precise value of IR drop or DC resistance is critical.

Select Tools - Options - Edit Options - Simulation (Advanced) - Accuracy Mode - Enable Accuracy Mode

When Accuracy mode is enabled, the following options are automatically updated irrespective of which workflow is currently in use:

  • The Treat All Pads as Shape option is enabled.
  • The Auto add nodes on VRM/Discrete/Sink pads option is enabled.
  • The Make all VRM/Discrete/Sink pads to be equipotential option is disabled.
  • The Auto Convert Wide Trace to Shape option is enabled for all the enabled nets.
  • The Enable 3D Via Model option is enabled

These options help to control the mesh size and via 3D model parameters for accurate results.
