Issue with Impedance/Reflection Analysis in Sigrity Aurora 23.1

Hello Cadence Community,

I am using Sigrity Aurora 23.1 and while performing reflection and impedance analysis, the error log initially showed:

The database version of the design file is not compatible with the Sigrity release version that is currently installed. Refer to the Compatibility Matrix section of the Installation Guide for information on the compatible Sigrity release version.

To resolve this, I installed Hotfix 2, which is compatible with Sigrity Aurora 23.1 and PCB Editor 23.1 base version.

My board design was originally done in Allegro 17.2, so I:

  1. Saved the board in PCB Editor 23.1,

  2. Then opened it in Sigrity Aurora 23.1.

After installing Hotfix 2, while simulating the analysis, the database compatibility issue was resolved, but a new problem arose:

invalid command name "sigrity::selectnet"

The net selection workflow seems to be working as expected, but this message still appears in the log and may be affecting the analysis.

Could someone guide me on:

  • How to handle this sigrity::selectnet issue in HF2, & complete the simulation.

Any suggestions or workarounds would be highly appreciated.

Thank you!

It appears to be a compatibility issue. To resolve this, please verify the following:

    1. Confirm that both Sigrity and SPB tools are installed on the same machine.
    2. Ensure that the SIGRITY_EDA_DIR environment variable is pointing to the correct Sigrity installation directory.

Additionally, please note the version compatibility requirements:

    - SPB 23.1 base version is compatible with Sigrity 2023.1 HF2.
    - To avoid compatibility issues, consider updating your Sigrity version to include hotfix 4.
    - Alternatively, you can install Sigrity 2024.0, which should also resolve the compatibility issue.

Please re-check the versions of SPB and Sigrity you are using and ensure they are compatible.

    Hello,

I have installed Hotfix 2 (HF2) for Sigrity Aurora 2023.1. After installation, when I run a simulation, I encounter the following error in the log:

    Invalid command name "sigrity::selectnet"

    Here is my setup:

    • The environment variable SIGRITY_EDA_DIR is correctly pointing to the installation directory.

    • Both Sigrity and SPB tools are installed on the same machine.

    • I do not have access to Sigrity 24.0; I am working only with 2023.1 and the compatible HF2.

    Could you please advise:

    1. What might be causing the sigrity::selectnet invalid command error after HF2 installation?

How can I overcome this error so that simulations run properly?

    Thank you for your guidance.

You can upgrade your Sigrity version by downloading and installing Hotfix 4.

    Thank you for the response.

I noticed that you suggested installing Hotfix 004, but according to the information available on the Cadence download and compatibility pages, HF004 appears to be compatible with Sigrity 2022.1 and OrCAD 22.1 HF001.

    However, my current setup is:

    • Sigrity Aurora 23.1 (installed with HF002)

    • Allegro/PCB Editor 23.1 (SPB tools installed on the same machine)

Could you please confirm whether HF004 is also compatible with the 23.1 release of Sigrity and Allegro tools?

    Hi Anusree,

I would like to make it clear for you!

The Sigrity Aurora is part of SPB installation and on the other hand Sigrity installation itself is a separate entity. Here is the compatibility matrix between SPB and Sigrity installation across various HF releases.

Since you've installed SPB 23.1 HF2/ISR2 (Sigrity Aurora) so it should be compatible with Sigrity 2023.1 HF2 release.

To install Sigrity 2023.1 HF2 or latest HF4, you can visit cadence downloads page (www.downloads.cadence.com) and check 'Cadence System Analysis Sigrity 2023.1' product.

Once you install Sigrity 2023.1 HF2, the issue should be resolved for your SPB23.1 HF2 Sigrity Aurora simulation. Similarly, If you've installed SPB 23.1 ISR3 or above then parallely you must install compatible Sigrity 2023.1 HF3 or above release to avoid any such issues.

    Hope it is clear.
