Orcad Uses A Dongle? Any Other Solution?

I have inherited system administration duties for our Windows 2000 CAD server, which appears to be running a license manager for Cadence OrCAD v16.0.  A dongle is also on this server that I believe is needed for the OrCAD application.

Am I correct that the dongle is needed for OrCAD v16.0?  And if so, is there an alternative to using the dongle?  I want to virtualize this server so it fits in our failover strategy.

I cannot find a general forum topic for sys admins, so hopefully this is an appropriate forum.

    You would need to talk the Cadence Channel Partner for your region, or Cadence if the product was purchased direct, they will be able to discuss and advise on solutions for license locking alternatives.
