I'm trying to install OrCAD 10.5 on a new machine. The licensing is done through a USB dongle and it's just not working. ISTR that every time I've tried to install on another machine I've had to spend hours swearing at the licensing :-/
First, I ran the "FLEXidInstaller.exe" program on disk 1. Then, when I plugged in the USB key the system asked for the file "aksusb.sys" which wasn't anywhere. So I copied it from another machine with a working install and the USB key drivers installed without any errors.
I edited my license.dat file to include the machine name where I'm installing the software.
So my license file looks like this (obfuscated a bit; no there aren't actually dashes in there):
SERVER new-laptop FLEXID=9-1------5 5280DAEMON cdslmd C:\OrCAD\license_manager\cdslmd.exeFEATURE OrCAD_Unison_PCB cdslmd 10.500 25-dec-0000 1 0------------------0 "UHD"FEATURE SPECCTRA_Unison_PCB cdslmd 15.500 25-dec-0000 1 7------------------8 "J"
When we first got the software, it wouldn't run unless we booted the PC with the USB key installed or ran a special batch file after pluggin the key. So I run this batch file, and I get errors:

The OS is XP Pro SP3. I've had my account set up as a local admin, so I should have full rights on the machine but the winsock error makes me think that may not be entirely true. However I'm not the IT guy at this company and so if I need something changed I may have to get someone else to do it.
Any advice?
