I've placed some shapes and holes on layouts, only to find that I cannot select them in order to delete them.

The command output pane says "No element found". I've tried it with all of the edit modes.

You would probably be better to report this in the appropriate forum since you haven't provided any details of which tool you are using. A guess at PCB Editor would be that what you are trying to select is not enabled in the Find tab but other tools...
