Could the license manager set the timeout period?

This is the wrong forum to be asking questions about the software -this forum is for issues with the forum system itself. I'd move it into a more appropriate forum, but you gave no indication as to which tools you're talking about.

Anyway, yes, you can set timeouts by providing an option file on the daemon line in the license file - see the Cadence License Manager manual (in cdnshelp this is normally under Cadence Shared Tools). There's a chapter called "How to Configure Licensing" and there's a section within that called "Managing Licenses" which has a section "Timing Out Idle Licenses". Note that the minimum timeout is 3600 (1hr).
