California Privacy Notice

California Privacy Notice for Cadence Community

This California Privacy Notice (the “Notice”) is for California residents only and supplements the Privacy Policy. Terms referenced in this Notice have the meaning assigned to them in applicable California law.

Sale of Information

In limited circumstances, we may disclose your information—with your consent—in ways that may be considered a sale under California law, including as follows:

  • Cadence may receive payment from business partners that are authorized to sell Cadence products; should a sale result from our disclosure of your contact information to that partner, pursuant to the section above regarding “Disclosure of Information.”
  • Under certain circumstances, our partners may also offer payment for provision of your contact information and interests (based on your browsing history), also pursuant to the section above regarding “Disclosure of Information.”
  • We may receive in-kind compensation from partners in exchange for providing them with your personal information (e.g., event sponsorship).

Other than the limited instances identified above, Cadence does not sell your personal information to third parties. Please see the section below, entitled “Your Rights,” for information on how to opt-out of such sales.

Sensitive Data

In specific cases where Cadence collects sensitive data, we will not use the data for secondary purposes (e.g., for advertising or to infer characteristics about you). To the extent that Cadence collects sensitive personal information, Cadence only uses such information to the extent that we’ve been authorized, as needed to fulfil requests for goods or services, and/or as otherwise allowed by applicable laws or regulations.

Retention Periods

We will retain your personal information for the period necessary to fulfil the purposes outlined in this Notice and governing Privacy Policy. The criteria used to determine such retention periods include: (i) the length of time we have an ongoing relationship with you; (ii) whether there is a legal or business obligation to which we are subject; or (iii) whether a longer retention period is required or permitted by law, for example to maintain certain contractual or tax records.

Your Rights

In addition to the rights described in our Privacy Policy and subject to certain exceptions, California residents also have the following rights:

Deletion. You may request that we delete the personal information that we’ve collected about you.

Disclosure. You may request that we disclose the following:

  • The categories of personal information (referenced in the table above) that we’ve collected about you.
  • The categories of sources from which we’ve collected the personal information about you.
  • The categories of personal information that we’ve sold and/or disclosed for a business purpose.
  • The categories of third parties to whom we’ve sold and/or disclosed your personal information.
  • The purpose(s) for collecting or selling, as applicable, your personal information.
  • The details regarding our use and how to opt-out of automated decision-making technology.
  • The specific pieces of personal information that we collected.

Exercising Your Rights

In addition to the methods otherwise described in this Notice, you may make any of the above requests by contacting us at privacy@cadence.com or by calling us at 1-833-926-0704. We will respond to your request as soon as reasonably practicable and in accordance with applicable law. Depending on the nature of your request, we may ask that you or your authorized representative, as applicable, provide verification of identity (e.g., government-issued ID).

Authorized Agents

Subject to certain parameters, California residents may designate an agent to exercise the above California privacy rights on their behalf. Depending on the nature of the privacy request (e.g., sensitivity), we may require written evidence confirming the designation.

Updates to this Notice

Cadence may supplement or amend this Notice from time-to-time, and will post a revised Notice on our Sites, and update the “Revised” date below. If we make material changes to the way we collect, use, or disclose your personal information, we will notify you by any additional means that are appropriate.
