Virtuosity: A Guide to Bindkeys for Interactive and Assisted Routing Commands

6 Jul 2018 • 2 minute read

You will doubtless have experienced how tiresome it is to access a command or option using a long menu sequence or multiple dialog boxes. And I'm sure you are also well-versed with the benefits of using bindkeys instead.

Why Do We Support Bindkeys?

We support bindkeys to tie commonly-used commands and sequences to single keys, key combinations, or mouse sequences, to help automate repetitive tasks and speed up your work. This reduces the time and effort involved in performing a specific task and offers an overall much better user experience.

In this blog, I don't mean to give you any more wisdom about what bindkeys are and what they can do for you. What I would like to share instead is a summary of all the bindkeys that we provide for Virtuoso interactive and assisted routing commands.
Hope you find this information handy and worth a place on your office soft board :-)

Bindkeys for Interactive and Assisted Routing Commands

The Interactive and assisted routing commands are accessed from the Create – Wiring menu. But, you can use the bindkeys to access these commands and avoid performing multiple steps.

Create Wire Commands

You can use bindkeys to perform certain actions while working with a wire.

Create Bus Commands

Here are the bindkeys that you can use to perform certain actions while working with a bus.

Create Stranded Wire Commands

Similarly, the bindkeys that you can use while working with a stranded wire are listed here.

Mouse Button Bindkeys

Virtuoso also provides mouse button bindkeys for the interactive routing commands. You can use these bindkeys to perform certain actions while working with a command.
