Virtuoso Studio IC23.1 ISR3 Now Available

Virtuoso Studio IC23.1 ISR3 production release is now available for download at Cadence Downloads. For information about supported platforms and other release compatibility information, see the README.txt file in the installation directory.

Here's a list of the highlights from the Virtuoso Studio IC23.1 release:

• Enhanced Simulation Manager Architecture (Virtuoso ADE Assembler)
  Use a completely distributed architecture to run the Virtuoso ADE Assembler broker and Simulation Manager processes on remote resources without their lifetime dependent on the Virtuoso Studio instance. The centralized Virtuoso ADE Assembler broker service supports both single- and multi-user environments.
  
• Tabular Report for Operating Point Parameters (Virtuoso ADE Assembler and Virtuoso ADE Explorer)
  Use the new Operating Point Parameters Summary report to view details of operating point parameters for devices. The report shows a table with devices categorized by their device type. The report also helps you to sort and filter results, view operating point parameters for different datasets, and cross-probe any device from the table on the schematic.
• Syntax Changes in Smart View Netlist (Virtuoso ADE Assembler and Virtuoso ADE Explorer)
  Use the enhanced Smart View netlists for improved performance. The syntax enhancements in these netlists reduce the peak memory usage and netlisting time.
• Advanced Optimization Method (Virtuoso ADE Assembler and Virtuoso Variation Option)
  Use the Advanced Optimization (AOP) method to integrate your custom algorithms into Virtuoso ADE Assembler using Python and C++ APIs. AOP integrates a new visualization framework to plot and analyze optimization data, such as real-time progress, outputs versus parameters, and sampling distribution. AOP also includes several new optimization algorithms, including machine-learning models that can improve sample efficiency and reduce optimization time.
• Creating Fixed-Y Markers (Virtuoso Visualization and Analysis XL)
  Use the FixedY tab in the Create Graph Marker form or the bindkey Shift +Y to add a fixed-y marker.  A fixed-y marker is a special point marker that can be attached to the trace at the specified y-axis value.
  
• Pulse-Amplitude Modulation 3-level (PAM3) Eye Diagram (Virtuoso Visualization and Analysis XL)
  You can now plot PAM3 eye diagrams in Virtuoso Visualization and Analysis XL. PAM3 is a digital signaling technique that uses three voltage levels. It offers a good balance of power efficiency, robustness, and complexity. New measurements, Tmid and Tmid Height, Threshold, Threshold Width, and Eye Amplitude, can be performed using the Eye Diagram assistant.
• Attach Screenshots to Design Review Defects (Virtuoso Layout Suite XL)
  Use the screenshot feature in the Virtuoso Design Review flow to attach images to a defect in the Design Review editor. The attached images can be referred to in an enlarged view from the editor and info balloon.
• Padstack Replacement (Virtuoso Multi-Technology Solution)
  You can now replace the pads created based on the IC layout shapes with the real pads created in the package design.
