Virtuoso IC6.1.8 ISR3 and ICADVM18.1 ISR3 Now Available

The IC6.1.8 ISR3 and ICADVM18.1 ISR3 production releases are now available for download at Cadence Downloads.

Here is a listing of some of the important updates made to IC6.1.8 and ICADVM18.1 for the ISR3 release:

  • Enhanced Design Planner Features (ICADVM18.1 Only)

    Use the enhanced Design Planner GUI to support an additional command—Generate Selected From Source—to allow selected schematic instances to be used for incremental virtual hierarchy generation, and Make Cell enhancements to allow more control on pin creation.

  • Create Fillets to Improve Manufacturability and Reliability (ICADVM18.1 Only)

    Create fillets to help prevent shock and vibration that might disrupt connections and prevent acid traps on design during fabrication. The new Fillet icon on the Metal Density toolbar now lets you create fillets on the shapes in the analog and high-speed circuits. In addition, the options in the Fillet tab of the Metal Density Options form lets you control how a fillet shape is created.

  • Create an FGR Automatically

    The AUTO option added to the Device field on the Wrap tab of the Create Guard Ring form now lets you create an FGR around selected devices automatically.

  • Save and Load the Options and Status Files

    Abstract Generator now saves information about each cell individually, in separate status files (.abstract.status). These status files are stored in the .abstract/<library name>/cellStatus directory in the current working directory.

    • Improved Reliability Options Form

      Use the revamped options of the Reliability Options form and get the benefit of the usability enhancements – regrouping of options in four tabs to keep the related options together.

    • Plot Signals in Datasheets using Plotting Templates

      The Replace Using Template option in the Create Datasheet form now lets you include the graphs in the datasheet from a plotting template.

      • Redesigned Stimuli Assignment Form

        • The renamed and redesigned Stimuli Assignment form helps in previewing the stimuli waveforms without creating a testbench while running a simulation.

          • Verify Mixed-Signal Design Projects

            Verify mixed-signal design projects by using the bi-directional connection between Virtuoso ADE Verifier and Cadence© vManagerTM Metric-Driven Signoff Platform, a digital verification tool.

            • Filter Trace Legends

              Use the Legend Filter form to apply filters to selectively view the traces that you want to work upon. This helps you to save a significant space from the trace legend area to view the traces better in the active graph window or subwindow.

              • Electro-Thermal Analysis in Legato Reliability Solution

                Enable the electro-thermal analysis on the Electro-Thermal tab of the Transient Options form to create a thermal model of the die based on the chip structure and thermal properties of the die stack.
