Virtuoso ICADVM20.1 ISR16 and IC6.1.8 ISR16 Now Available

The ICADVM20.1 ISR16 and IC6.1.8 ISR16 production releases are now available for download at Cadence Downloads. For information on supported platforms and other release compatibility information, see the README.txt file in the installation hierarchy.

We are no longer providing incremental software releases (ISRs) for the ICADVM18.1 release stream. ICADVM18.1 ISR13 was the final ICADVM18.1 ISR released. The recommended replacement release stream for ICADVM18.1 is ICADVM20.1.

Here is a listing of the most important updates made in the current releases:

ICADVM20.1 ISR16 Only

  • Extract Full Cellview with Black Box Flow (Virtuoso RF Solution)
    Use the enhanced Extract Full Cellview command in the Electromagnetic Solver assistant to create models, where certain cells, such as active devices are automatically excluded from the simulation and are replaced with ports.
  • Remaster Instances during CLF Export (Virtuoso RF Solution)
    Use the new Remaster instances section in the Simplify layout for EM simulation form to change the master cellview for all instances of a cellview.
  • Preserve Net Names for Clarity 3D Solver (Virtuoso RF Solution)
    Use the Electromagnetic Solver assistant to send net names to the Clarity 3D Solver in addition to the other shape details included in the model. For hierarchical nets, use the assistant to send the name of the top-level nets.
  • Override Default Values for Simulation Settings (Virtuoso RF Solution)
    Use the custom settings file to override the default values set in the Simulation Settings form for both IC and package designs.
  • Change Cutting Boundary to be a Virtual Shape (Virtuoso RF Solution)
    Control the visibility of the cutting boundary of each model as the Electromagnetic Solver assistant no longer stores the cutting boundaries as shapes in the database.
  • Trace Nets while Editing-In-Concert (Virtuoso RF Solution)
    Trace multi-technology fabrics, such as dies and packages, for nets while editing-in-concert. Create multiple traces from layers in a package to layers in a die.
  • Scribe Parameters on TILP (Virtuoso RF Solution)
    Define an area around the PR boundary by using the scribe parameters—Scribe North, Scribe South, Scribe East, and Scribe West, on a die TILP to define the value in each direction.
  • S-Parameter Files Stored in Cellview (Virtuoso RF Solution)
    Use the EM Solver assistant to automatically store the S-Parameter files inside the extracted cellview folder, which ensures that the extracted view and the S-Parameter files are always synchronized and checked into the vault together.
